Stephen John Bury

Stephen John Bury is a British art historian and the Andrew W. Mellon Chief Librarian of the Frick Art Research Library in New York City. He is a recognized authority on artists' books and multiples, having published several foundational monographs on the subject. His scholarship explores the intersection of art history, book arts, and the material conditions of artistic production. In addition to his curatorial and library leadership roles, he has served as a postgraduate tutor in Modern Art History and Theory at Chelsea College of Art and Design. His research interests also encompass the literature of art, the impact of digital technologies on the humanities, and the history of modernist magazines.[1,2]
