Susanne Baumann

Susanne Baumann is a German diplomat and scholar. She entered the higher Foreign Service in 1993 after studying law at the University of Bonn. Her career includes serving as the Federal Government Commissioner for Disarmament and Arms Control (2018–2021) and as State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Office (2021–2025). Since September 2025, she has served as the German Ambassador to the United Kingdom. In addition to her diplomatic career, she has contributed to photographic history through scholarly work and cataloging for institutions like Museum Folkwang.[1,2,3,4,5]
