Tom Jacobson
author
Tom Jacobson is an American photographer and collector who is primarily recognized for his role in rediscovering the work of French photographer Pierre Dubreuil. In the late 1970s, Jacobson began identifying and collecting long-forgotten works by Dubreuil, many of which were displaced or believed lost. His extensive research and advocacy culminated in a major retrospective exhibition at the Musée d'Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris in 1987. Jacobson authored the definitive monograph on Dubreuil, 'Pierre Dubreuil: Photographs 1896-1935', which accompanied this landmark exhibition. His work is cited as a significant contribution to the preservation and reintroduction of early 20th-century modernist photography.[1,2]
