Séville en Fête is a photographic essay by the renowned French photographer Brassaï. Published in 1954 by Robert Delpire in Paris, this first edition slim quarto volume features 75 rich photogravures that document the vibrant cultural atmosphere of Seville during its most famous spring festivals. The book captures the solemn religious processions of Semana Santa and the exuberant, week-long festivities of La Feria de Abril. It highlights the city's Andalusian spirit through images of beautifully decorated horse-drawn carriages in the Paseo de Caballos, the colorful casetas filled with flamenco dancers, and the atmosphere of the Plaza de Toros de Maestranza de Caballería. The work is noted for its humanistic approach, capturing the physical volume and genuine involvement of the people within these traditional settings.
