The Human Figure in Motion

The Human Figure in Motion is a significant collection of high-speed action photographs by Eadweard Muybridge. It represents the largest selection ever made from Muybridge's famous sequence high-speed photographs of human motion. The work contains 4,789 photographs illustrating approximately 163 different types of action, including elderly men lifting logs, women sweeping, women climbing ladders, men boxing and wrestling, children crawling, and men jumping. The photographs illustrate human locomotion and biomechanical movements at various shutter speeds. Published by Dover Publications, this volume is often included in the 'Dover Anatomy for Artists' series.
