Gallery One

A selection of black and white photographs by leading photographers of the late 1950s, reproduced as full-page plates with short accompanying notes. The pictures are mixed contemporary work from different photographers rather than a single photographer's series, assembled as an anthology under the subtitle "Some Pictures Which Matter". It was edited by Norman Hall for Photography magazine's book list and appeared in 1958. It is a magazine-published anthology of contemporary photography, issued in cloth boards without a dust jacket, with illustrations throughout.
