His typical playful and libertarian photographs - of which many were distributed on poster-size - of female amateur-models, hippie- and flower power-people and happenings in Amsterdam during the sixties contributed greatly to the city's image as a sanctuary of lax sexual morals and centre of 'love & peace'.
