Mort et les statues (La)
€29.00
A book featuring photographs of Parisian statues removed during the Occupation, with text by Jean Cocteau.
This edition of 'La mort et les statues' features a collection of photographs taken by Pierre Jahan. During the German Occupation of Paris, many statues were unbolted and stored in the 12th arrondissement; Jahan captured these images, which inspired Jean Cocteau to write the accompanying text in 1946. This specific 2008 reedition by Éditions de l'Amateur is copiously illustrated with black and white photographs and includes ten previously unpublished images.
