建築の黙示録 (Architectural Apocalypse)

Architectural Apocalypse (Kenchiku no Mokushiroku) is a unique photo book by Japanese photographer Ryuji Miyamoto that vividly documents the decay and collapse of large-scale structures scattered throughout European and Japanese cities. The collection focuses on buildings constructed in the early 20th century, including theaters, factories, fortresses, apartments, sports arenas, and department stores. These images are accompanied by an illuminating essay by renowned architect Arata Isozaki, who explores the theme of ruins in relation to his own architectural work and the philosophical tension between concepts of progress and apocalypse.
