author

Ad Petersen was a Dutch art historian and curator who specialized in graphic design, typography, and the history of modern art movements. He served as a conservator at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and later held positions at the Haags Gemeentemuseum (Museum van het Zeeland), where he worked extensively on the collection of prints and drawings. Petersen is well-known for his scholarly work on Piet Zwart, Theo van Doesburg, and the De Stijl movement. His publications often explore the intersection of art, science, and technology, including early computer graphics and the history of visual communication. He was a significant figure in documenting Dutch graphic design history, notably co-authoring comprehensive overviews of the field's evolution in the Netherlands.[1,2]
