Adam Broomberg

Adam Broomberg is a South African artist, educator, and activist currently based in Berlin. He was one half of the critically acclaimed artistic duo Broomberg & Chanarin for over two decades (ending in 2021). His practice involves forensic examinations of the photographic medium, engaging with strategies ranging from large-format analogue film to algorithmic images. He is a professor of photography at several institutions, including the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg and Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche di Urbino. His work explores themes of violence, authority, politics, and religion.[1,2]
