Albert Lamorisse

Albert Lamorisse was a distinguished French filmmaker, photographer, and illustrator. Born in Paris in 1922, he began his career in photography before transitioning to cinema. He is widely recognized for his visually poetic films that often feature children and animals, such as 'Le Ballon Rouge' and 'Le Voyage en ballon'. His work is characterized by a unique aesthetic that combines documentary realism with a dreamlike, artistic sensibility. Lamorisse's photography and illustrations were central to his artistic identity, providing the visual foundation for his cinematic and literary contributions. He passed away in 1970 in Iran during the production of his final film.[1]
