Allan Douglass Coleman

Allan Douglass Coleman (born 1943) is an independent American critic, historian, educator, and curator of photography and photo-based art. He has published eight books and more than 2000 essays on photography and related subjects. A pioneer in the field, he was the first photo critic for The New York Times and launched 'The Nearby Café' online magazine in 1995. His work is widely translated into multiple languages and published globally.[1,2]
