André Gregory

André Gregory is a French-born American theatre director, writer, and actor. Born in Paris to Russian Jewish parents who fled the Nazis, he grew up in Los Angeles. He studied acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. Gregory is best known for co-writing and starring in the 1981 film 'My Dinner with Andre'. His career includes directing avant-garde productions like 'Alice in Wonderland' (1970) and founding his own theatrical company, The Manhattan Project, in 1968. He has also worked extensively as a curator and writer, contributing to various publications on theatre and performance art.
