author · photographer

Andrew Bush is an American photographer and artist born in 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri. He studied photography at Yale University, where he earned his MFA. His work often explores the tension between private and public spaces, particularly within the context of Los Angeles car culture. From 1989 through 1997, Bush captured a series of voyeuristic images of individuals driving cars in and around Los Angeles, which he titled 'Vector Portraits.' These photographs were made by attaching a camera to his passenger-side window while traveling at speeds between 50 and 70 mph. His work is held in many major collections worldwide.[1,2]
