Andries Dirk Copier

Andries Dirk Copier (1901–1991) was a renowned Dutch designer and glass artist. He spent the majority of his career associated with Glasfabriek Leerdam, where he served as the primary designer from 1914 until 1971. A student of Jacob Jongert at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam, Copier became famous for his innovative designs in industrial glassware, crystal, and ceramics. His work is characterized by a balance of artistic expression and functional design, notably seen in his 'Gildeglas' series. He was also active in the Dutch resistance during World War II.[1,2]
