Arata Isozaki

Arata Isozaki (1931–2022) was a prominent Japanese architect, urban designer, and theorist. Born in Ōita, Japan, he became one of the first Japanese architects to build extensively outside his home country, establishing a global presence in architecture. His work is characterized by a synthesis of Eastern and Western architectural traditions, often blending modernism with cultural heritage. He was a significant figure in the Metabolist movement and later expanded into large-scale urban planning and international projects.
