Arnaud Baumann is a French portrait photographer and videographer born in 1953 in Réunion. He studied architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris before turning to photography. Known for his deep portraits and artistic vision, he collaborated with publications like Hara Kiri and Charlie Hebdo in the 1970s and documented the nightlife of Paris's Palace in the 1980s. His work often explores themes of nudity, identity, and social tribes through a nomadic studio concept called 'Chambre Blanche'.
