Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle (1859–1930) was a prolific British writer and physician, best known as the creator of the detective Sherlock Holmes. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh before pursuing a career in literature. While his fictional works achieved global fame, Doyle also authored numerous non-fiction pieces, including essays on photography, spiritualism, and various historical subjects. His literary output was diverse, ranging from adventure novels to short stories and plays. He was knighted for his services to literature and remains one of the most influential figures in modern detective fiction.[1,2]
