Beaumont Newhall (1908–1993) was a distinguished American art historian, curator, writer, and photographer. He is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in the history of photography, having served as the first curator of the Department of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. His seminal work, 'The History of Photography,' remains a foundational textbook in the field. Newhall was also a practitioner who maintained a close personal and professional relationship with many iconic photographers of his era.[1,2,3,4]
