Ben Krewinkel

Ben Krewinkel is a Dutch photographer, (photo)historian, and writer based in the Netherlands. He studied modern African history in Amsterdam and Pretoria, South Africa, as well as Photographic Studies in Leiden. He graduated from the FotoAcademie in Amsterdam with honors (cum laude). His work focuses on the intersection of historical and social issues, particularly concerning Africa, often utilizing both original documentary photography and archival materials. Krewinkel is a teacher of photography at the School of Journalism in Utrecht and has worked as a curator and book designer. He initiated the website 'Africa in the Photobook' to document visual representations of the continent.[1,2,3]
