Bianca Stigter

Bianca Stigter is a Dutch historian, journalist, and documentary filmmaker. She studied history at the University of Amsterdam (1982–1988) and has worked as an editor for NRC Handelsblad since 1988. She is known for her work on cultural policy and historical memory, particularly regarding occupied cities. Her notable works include 'Atlas van een bezette stad: Amsterdam 1940-1945' (2019) and several essays on art and culture. In recent years, she has gained international recognition as a producer and director of documentary films, including collaborations with filmmaker Steve McQueen.[1,2,3]
