Bram Wisman

Bram Wisman (1920–2008) was a prominent Dutch photojournalist and photographer. He began his career in 1938 in the darkroom of De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam and worked for the news agency Anefo immediately after World War II. Wisman is notably recognized as a co-founder of World Press Photo in 1955, alongside Kees Scherer. Throughout his career, he contributed significantly to Dutch press photography, working for publications such as Het Vrije Volk and Ons Amsterdam (where he was the first photographer). He was known for his craftsmanship and his ability to capture significant historical moments. In 1994, he published 'Argusogen', a documentary work detailing the development of press photography in the Netherlands.[1,2,3,4,5]
