Cecil Beaton
photographer
Sir Cecil Beaton (1904–1980) was a prominent British fashion photographer, portraitist, and designer. He launched his career in 1926 with an exhibition in London that led to a long-standing contract with Vogue magazine, where he worked for three decades. Known for his glamorous style, Beaton became the court photographer to the British Royal Family in 1937. Beyond photography, he was a highly successful set and costume designer for stage and film, notably for productions such as 'My Fair Lady' (1956) and 'Gigi' (1958), for which he won three Academy Awards. His work captured the essence of high society, Hollywood glamour, and British royalty throughout the 20th century.[1,2]
