Cees Braakman

Cees Braakman (1917–1995) was a pioneering Dutch furniture designer who became the head of design for UMS Pastoe in 1948. Growing up in the factory as the son of manager Dirk Braakman, he introduced modern production techniques such as bent multiplex and wireframe structures to the company's collection. His work is characterized by functional, modular designs that gained international recognition, particularly his 'U+N series' and various iconic chairs.[1,2,3,4]
