Christien Meindertsma

Christien Meindertsma is a Dutch designer based in Rotterdam. She graduated from the Eindhoven Design Academy in 2003. Her work focuses on the life of products and raw materials, often documenting industrial processes that have become invisible through mass production. She explores themes of local production, underexplored resources, and the relationship between source and consumer. Notable projects include 'Checked Baggage' (2004), which documented confiscated items at Schiphol Airport, and 'PIG 05049' (2007), a research project tracking products made from a single pig. Her work is held in major collections including MoMA, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Vitra Design Museum.[1,2]
