Christopher Makos

Christopher Makos is an American photographer and visual artist known for his documentation of queer icons, pop stars, and the male body. A close friend and collaborator of Andy Warhol, Makos was a significant chronicler of New York's underground club culture during the 1970s and 1980s. He served as a staff photographer for Warhol's Interview magazine and is credited with introducing artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring to Warhol's social circle. His work has been featured in numerous major publications including Rolling Stone, Esquire, and New York Magazine, and his photographs are held in the collections of several major museums.[1,2,5]
