Claudia Heinermann

Claudia Heinermann is a German documentary photographer known for her long-term observational projects focusing on historical topics, war, and genocide. She studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Enschede (1986–1991) and later specialized in photography at the Photo Academy Amsterdam (2004–2006). Her work often addresses controversial issues through a unique visual lens. Notable projects include 'Enduring Srebrenica', which documents the aftermath of the Bosnian genocide, and 'Wolfskinder', focusing on children displaced by war. She has received several awards, including the first prize for self-published photobooks at the Deutscher Fotobuchpreis in 2017.[1,2]
