Craigie Horsfield

author · photographer

Craigie Horsfield is a British artist and photographer born in Cambridge in 1949. His work is characterized by deeply saturated, often enigmatic black-and-white photographs that explore the relationship between individuals and the collective, as well as the history of our century. He was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1996. Horsfield's practice involves a rigorous formal unity and a precise visual vocabulary, often reflecting on social projects and community structures. He lives and works in London and New York.[1,2]
