Cuny Janssen
photographer
Cuny Janssen is a Dutch photographer born in 1975. She completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht and later underwent an internship with Thomas Struth in Düsseldorf, Germany. Since 2000, she has traveled globally to capture portraits of children in their everyday environments, often juxtaposing these intimate moments with photographs of the surrounding landscapes. Janssen works exclusively in color and utilizes an analogue 4 x 5 inch plate camera to capture impulsive, expressive scenes that reflect the character of specific regions or cities. Her work has been exhibited internationally at venues such as the Photographers' Gallery in London and FOAM in Amsterdam.[1]
