David Hockney
author · photographer
David Hockney is a prominent English painter, stage designer, and photographer. A key figure in the Pop Art movement of the 1960s, he is recognized as one of the most influential British artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. His work often explores themes of landscape, portraiture, and the nature of perception. In the early 1980s, Hockney significantly expanded his artistic practice into photography, experimenting with composite Polaroids to address perspectival challenges in two-dimensional art, a development heavily influenced by curator Alain Sayag.[1,2]
