Dora Dolz de Herman

Dora Dolz de Herman (1941–2008) was a Spanish-Dutch artist known for her versatile work in painting, ceramics, glassware, and rugs. She studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Art between 1967 and 1971 and later became a lecturer there. Her artistic practice is characterized by flamboyant colors and recurring themes of birth, life, suffering, and death. She is particularly recognized for her outdoor ceramic sculptures in the form of chairs and sofas located in various Dutch cities including Rotterdam, Schiedam, and Groningen. In 2008, she was awarded the Wolfert van Borselen medal by the municipality of Rotterdam.[1,2,3,4,5]
