Eduard Spelterini (1852–1931) was a Swiss pioneer in aerial photography and ballooning. He is best known for his role as an aviator and photographer who captured some of the first high-altitude views of the Alps from a hot air balloon. His work, including 'Die Fahrt der Wega über Alpen und Jura am 3. Oktober 1898', combined scientific observation with artistic documentation of the landscape.[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8]
