Edward Steichen

Edward Steichen (1879–1973) was an influential American photographer, painter, and exhibition designer who significantly shaped the development of modern photography. Born in Luxembourg, Steichen emigrated to the United States as a child and became a pioneer in various photographic styles, including pictorialism, fashion, and commercial photography. He was a founding member of the Photo-Secession movement and was instrumental in elevating photography to the status of fine art. Throughout his career, Steichen was recognized for his aesthetic vision and his role as a major figure in both the artistic and commercial applications of the medium.[1,3]
