Lies Wiegman was a Dutch photographer known for creating poetic visual narratives, particularly for children, during the 1960s. She received formal training in advertising and photography at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague (1946–1949) before further studies in Paris in 1950. Her work is characterized by a focus on series and the interconnectedness of photographs to convey a cohesive narrative. Her first photographic story in book form, 'Mijn lama', was published in 1962 by Esso Nederland.[1,2]
