Ellen Manchester is an American photo historian and independent photography curator. She is widely recognized for her significant contributions to landscape photography projects in the United States during the 1970s and 1980s. She co-conceived and directed the Rephotographic Survey Project (RSP) starting in 1977, which sought to document changes in the American West by rephotographing sites from nineteenth-century government surveys. Her work often focuses on the intersection of environmental history and photographic documentation.[1,2,3,4]
