Rick Dingus

Rick Dingus is an American photographer and artist born in 1951 in Appleton City, Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1973, with an emphasis on painting, and later received his Master of Fine Arts in photography from the University of New Mexico in 1981. Dingus is well-known for his participation in the Rephotographic Survey Project, where he re-photographed sites made famous by Timothy O'Sullivan's early geological survey pictures to explore themes of memory and landscape. His work has been widely exhibited in more than 25 solo and 100 group exhibitions globally. He has taught at Texas Tech University and is recognized for his contributions to contemporary American landscape photography.[1,2,3,4,5]
