Fernando del Paso was a prominent Mexican novelist, artist, and diplomat known for his experimental and baroque literary style. Born in Mexico City in 1935, he studied law and worked as a diplomat before dedicating himself to literature. His work is characterized by its expansive scope, often blending magical realism with European literary traditions. He published his first book, a collection of sonnets, in 1958. Del Paso's novels are noted for their complex structures and deep exploration of Mexican culture and history. He was considered one of the most significant Latin American authors of the late 20th century.^[1,2]
