Forrest Jack Hurley

F. Jack Hurley is a Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Memphis. He was awarded the Lyndhurst Prize in 1990 for his significant work in American Social and Cultural History. His scholarship focuses on documentary photography and its role in documenting American life during the Great Depression, specifically through the lens of the Farm Security Administration (FSA). He has authored several definitive biographies of prominent photographers, including Russell Lee and Marion Post Wolcott.[1]
