François Nourissier

François Nourissier was a French journalist and writer. Born in Paris in 1927, he began his career with humanitarian work for displaced persons following World War II. He held significant editorial positions at Denoël (1952–1955) and Grasset (1958–1996). Nourissier was a prominent figure in the French literary scene, elected to the Académie Goncourt in 1977. His work is characterized by an intimate knowledge of the literary world, often blending autobiography with fiction. He was known for his sharp style and moralistic wit, exploring themes of French identity, bourgeois life, and the history of literature.[1,2]
