Frans A. Janssen (1939–2024) was a Dutch historian specializing in book and library history (boek- en bibliotheekgeschiedenis). He served as a professor of Book Science at the University of Amsterdam from 1989 to 2004. Janssen was an expert in textual criticism, bibliography, and typographic techniques. He maintained a long-standing friendship with Willem Frederik Hermans and authored numerous works regarding Hermans' literary output and bibliographic universe.[1,2]
