Frido Troost

Frido Troost (1960–2013) was a Dutch photography historian and lecturer at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. He was an art historian by trade and a pioneer in collecting diverse types of photography, ranging from daguerreotypes to family albums. He co-owned the photo antiquarian shop 'Institute for Concrete Matter' (ICM) in Haarlem, established in 2000. Troost is noted for his extensive knowledge of the medium and his role in producing high-quality photography books through Basalt Publishers.[1,2,3]
