George Leary Love (1937–1995) was an American photographer who spent a significant portion of his career in Brazil. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he moved to New York in the early 1960s and joined the Association of Heliographers, where he explored experimental photography. He traveled to South America in 1966 and established a prolific body of work documenting Brazilian landscapes and indigenous cultures, notably collaborating with Claudia Andujar on the book 'Amazônia' (1978). Love was recognized for his unique visual language that blended documentary realism with artistic experimentation. His work is held in major institutions including MoMA and Tate.[1,2,3,4,5]
