Georges Simenon

author

Georges Simenon (1903–1989) was a prolific Belgian novelist and screenwriter, widely regarded as one of the most successful authors of the 20th century. He is best known for creating the fictional detective Jules Maigret, whose stories have been adapted into numerous films and television series. Simenon's literary output was immense; he published nearly 500 novels under his own name and various pseudonyms, as well as hundreds of short stories and several autobiographies. His work often explored psychological depth, crime, and the complexities of human nature. Beyond his detective fiction, he wrote extensively on social issues and lived a life that many described as both bohemian and intensely productive.[1,2]
