Gerd Sander (1940–2021) was a German photographer, collector, archivist, and gallery owner. He was the grandson of the renowned portrait photographer August Sander. Gerd operated his own photographic business in Cologne from 1971 to 1975 and later ran galleries in Washington, D.C., and New York City. He is notably known for compiling the August Sander Archive and co-editing the seven-volume publication 'August Sander: People of the 20th Century'.[1,4]
