Gerrit Hendrik (Ger) Dekkers (1929–2020) was a prominent Dutch photographer and visual artist. He is widely regarded as a pioneer of landscape photography in the Netherlands. Dekkers was known for his conceptual approach to capturing the Dutch countryside, often producing abstract and minimalist images that explored the human impact on the land. He studied at the AKI Kunstacademie in Enschede between 1950 and 1954, where he focused on graphic design. For much of his career, he lived and worked in Giethoorn, where his studio was based. His work has been featured in various exhibitions and publications, maintaining a reputation for high artistic quality and technical precision.[1,2]
