Gholam-Hossein Sa'edi

Gholam-Hossein Sa'edi (1936–1985) was a prolific Iranian writer, psychiatrist, and political activist. Born in Tabriz, he graduated from the medical school at Tehran University specializing in psychiatry. He was an influential figure in popularizing theater as an art form and a medium of social critique in Iran. A critic of both the Shah's monarchy and the Islamic Republic, Sa'edi published over forty books across genres including fiction (drama, novels, short stories), non-fiction (cultural criticism, travel literature, ethnography), and screenplays. He often wrote under the pen name Gowhar Morād.[1,2,4]
