Hannes Wallrafen is a Dutch-German photographer known for his staged and documentary photography. He began his professional career in 1976, traveling extensively as a documentary photographer for magazines and development organizations in countries such as Tanzania, India, and Northern Ireland. In recent years, his work has evolved to focus on 'engineered images' and staged photography that translate time and history into visual narratives. He resides in Amsterdam and lost his eyesight approximately 10 years ago at the height of his career.[1]
