Hans Bol
photographer
Hans Bol is a Dutch photographer born in Amsterdam in 1957. He focuses on landscape photography, particularly landscapes that have been damaged or altered by human activity. His work often explores the tension between industrial processes and natural beauty, as seen in his long-term documentation of marble quarries in Carrara, Italy, and various locations in the United States and India. Bol is known for a sober, precise aesthetic influenced by Leica photography. He also produces high-quality publications through his own publishing house, Recto Verso Publications, which has been recognized for its craftsmanship.[1,2,3]
