Hugh Edwards (1903–1986) was a prominent American photography curator based in Chicago. He served as the Curator of Prints & Drawings at the Art Institute of Chicago from 1959 until his retirement in 1970. Edwards is recognized as one of the most influential curators of late twentieth-century photography, working alongside figures like Alfred Stieglitz and John Szarkowski to establish photography as a fine art form in the United States. He was instrumental in acquiring thousands of works and organizing numerous landmark exhibitions for groundbreaking realist photographers.[1,3,4,5,6]
